The Hope Is Coming 5K is not only a race for professional runners and
running enthusiasts, but also one for cancer patients, survivors, their families and supporters,
and their caregivers. It is truly an event for all.
The race date is August 11th and begins at 9AM. It
is a flat, out and back 5K run and great for all levels of participants. The race is
USATF Certified and Offical Timing is provided by
HI-TEK Racing. The race begins at the West Haven High
School from the football field and continues down Captain Thomas Blvd., onward to Ocean Ave., with
water locations along the course and returns back to the finish line on the school grounds.

Every year 10,000 patients need a marrow transplant
using blood stem cells from a caring stranger. At the Hope Is Coming 5K on Saturday,
August 11th, from 8:30 a.m. – Noon at West Haven High School; learn how you can save a life by
joining the Be The Match Registry. Become a marrow donor with some simple paperwork and a cheek
swab sample - it takes only 15 minutes! You must be 18-60 years old and in good health. If you
later match a patient, most donations can be made through an automated blood donation. Visit
